is it a belt squeal?? my first obvious thought was the tensioner had died (as they do) but if both the belt and tensioner have been done, then perhaps one of the idlers has seized or is dying causing the belt to randomly slip? Other possibilities are the clutch pulley on the alternator is on its way out, although these normally make a nasty rattle sound.

Of course Im ASSUMING its a diesel *rolls eyes*

If a Petrol, the front crank pulley is prone to dying which will cause a squeak or rattle on occasion until it gets really bad.

Regards
Daz

VERY carefully use some candle wax on the side of the belt. Will stop it making noise.

We get it all the time after washing an enginebay.

I'd be thinking alternator pulley is the culprit or certainly a candidate.
How far has it ravelled on this one?

Hi Guys, 115,000kms and its a diesel yes.

So, the Alternator is part of the accessory belt system?

I will try and get an audio clip of it for you.... its HIGHLY annoying

Indeed. It's got to be a fully functional OAD pulley and if its travelled that far it may be the cause. It is driven by the accessory belt in fact it's usually the first pulley you slip the belt off when removing that particular belt and the tension is removed.
