Way back I put it out there in the KJ forum that I got ATF+4 from Amazon.

As an example - you can't buy GO5 coolant from Amazon as it is distributed by Valvoline and sold by their agents but before Supercheap stocked it contact with Valvoline reps was most productive compared to lots of other automotive fluid companies. They were a pleasure to deal with and I now buy from a local ag engineer rather than Supercheap - supports a neighbour too.
You're right, I did just notice one of the Valvoline sellers on Amazon will ship ATF+4 to Aus. A little cheaper than the Mopar stuff I purchased.

Reason I went the MOPAR option (2x 1 gallon, ie 8 qts) rather than the Pennzoil (6 x 1 qt) was that from what I have researched the oil change on the 45RFE will take anywhere between 5 to 8 qts of fluid.. particularly on the higher side when also changing the spin-on filter. Seems to vary depending on the angle the vehicle is on (ramps vs hoist, etc) and how long it was left to drip with the pan off.. Didn't want to end up short so rather than ordering 12qts of Pennzoil, went with the Mopar..

Valvoline only seems to come in the 6x1 qt lots too.

Just a quick follow-up on this.. Finally got around to the trans service this weekend.

A couple of points:

Took 7.5 litres all up.. Luckily the 2x 1 gallon ATF+4 containers i purchased off Amazon arrived as 2x 1.3 gallon (5lt) containers! I let it drain overnight as i ran out of daylight.

I let the pan initially drain at the rear (the manual suggests drain from the front).. Draining from the rear made more sense to me with the front of the vehicle on ramps. Perhaps having the front of the vehicle raised, and leaving overnight accounted for draining more fluid than the manual suggests??

A dremmel with one of the very soft wire brush attachments made light work of removing the old RTV from the pan. The mating face on the transmission only needed a wipe with a rag.

The Wix filter kit I used came with a rubber gasket - chose to use this but put a very light smear of permatex non-hardening aviation sealant on each side. Has sealed up nicely.

Thanks Glend for your previous write up on this... Particularly for mentioning the need for the T25 torx driver prior to getting started.

Ended up $AUD150 delivered to Melb, took 2 weeks. And as I said although the purchase was for 1 gal containers, the one's I received were 5lt (1.3 gal)... I'm guessing produced for the Continental European market..
