Poly is pretty pricey though, are there no other wrecker options for you?

once you have your old one out, one day you can have a play with it. A banner kit should be a bit cheaper but you wont know what it needs till in pieces.
1800 includes torque converter I am pretty sure if I remember what I sussed out last night. I did see other cheaper kits with less in them but like you say LB won't know before its dismantled.

Not in Tas it would seem. I tried both 4x4 wreckers within 150km and both don't have any update Trans'. Seems to be very few XJs in Tas full stop. I have kept an eye on Gumtree for the last 12months and very few XJs have come up for sale and the ones that have people think they are made of gold, because down here people seem to think a 2000 XJ is worth 6k. People are even trying to get 3-4k for 96s. They are not selling for that as the listings are up for months but I doubt giving someone a realistic offer of 2-3k for a 2000 XJ is going to persuade them to part with their Jeep. I think $700 for a trans inc freight is a pretty reasonable price to pay from a reputable wrecker like Poly. Unlike the shonky local one who unfortunately doesn't check the parts properly to ensure they are working well before mailing them out. Well that was my one experience with him.

Regards A
