I only get a puff of black smoke when I have just started the engine and take off for ther 1rst/ 2nd time, after that zero smoke. I have always used the diesel power fuel addative though.

Sounds like a jk isn't for you.

If you want speed, the jk isn't for you.

I currently have the jk downstairs sitting next to a 550 horsepower xr5 that does 0 to 100 in about 5 seconds. Guess which car I take out when I want speed? But really, I'm seeing less point since owning the jk. The traffic is the same. And sure off the lights, some speed would be nice. But by the next set of lights, you're back sitting with the same other cars anyway. So what's the point? The jk is fun off road and on road gets from a to b. What more could you want?

Speed isn't everything.

Thats right....I shortlisted both the JK and the FJC.....after lots of research and driving both, I can tell you...you feel the weight in the FJC, takes some throttle to get it moving.
Don't get me wrong, I like the FJC, but I had no preconceptions, and I bought the JK 2 door......but I think my choice was very subjective....you may feel differently.
Don't think you'll get good fuel economy with the FJ.

Oh, and I sold a 455 V8 musclecar to buy the Jeep....fast isn't always the most fun.
