AJOR, plan my trip for me

Torn between flying up and back for a wedding in sydney then driving to Nyah. Or driving to Sydney and then down the scenic way...

The 2 hardest bits is a 4yr old that has a max in the car of about 3-4hours, and my girl can't handle corrugations or even much light offroad

(and is in a similar boat with time she can spend sitting)

At this stage the girls will probably be put on the plane to sydney. And I'll drive up... (or if i get unlucky I'll be driving with just the pet monkey while the missus fly's) Then back via canberra to visit friends (and MTB), skip over to somewhere near albury, then on to Nyah West just past swan hill. Then stopping at melville caves in vic for a night or two on our way home. - anywhere bouldering or MTB-centric scores brownie points.

So, any detours I should, could or must make? Places of interest etc. We will be staying in free camps the whole way up and back. And sleeping on the floor of family in Sydney.
