found a youtube a while ago of some damage to a jk, the guy probably came down hard on a rock but shows the shock loads got absorbed by the body, reason why i prefer chassis mounted sliders.

but then again check out my old jk, i had chassis mounted Rugged Ridge sliders and they bent up on a rock and dented my sills! dented at the ends where the tubes are. sorry dont have a close up pic.
(before and after pics att)

another thing i think of with Body Mount sliders, or Sill Armour is, does water, mud, dirt, sand etc work its way in between them and the body and cause wearing down of the paint and subsequent rusting? If the NutSert holes are not painted prior to fitting are they causing rust, are nutserts coming loose? The Poison Spyder Logo Cut into the Sill Armour wouldn't help keeping shit out either. Obviously all this would take years.

I like Poison Spyder Chassis mount Rocker Knockers for their attachment method, or Uneek, but uneek mount the same way as RR, although their mounting arms look a lot stronger! id doubt they'd bend like RR?
I'll have to take a trip over and see uneeks ones before i decide.

I have these exact same sliders and they have been given a proper workout. Not a single issue. I watched this video and went to check my car straight after. No dramas at all.
I have to say, they are fantastic sliders but I reckon next time, I will go Uneek. Just as good, just as tough and support an OZ company.

From an engineering viewpoint, I don't like those sliders that attach to the body.....last thing you want is to transfer force through the slider and into the body tub.
May as well leave the plastic step on as a sacrificial protector.
I like both Blackjack's and Uneek.

and uneek simpler to afix, the other thing that turned me off poison spyder body mount type was with the vic mud those flat top steps will just hold mud.

I'd hate to put all the load on just the body panels... seems like its applying a large load to something really just designed to keep the rain off, even if its spread over a large area.

However, I've also seen chassis mount tube sliders flex to the point of contacting the body with a purely vertical load applied ( slider tube landing vertically on a tree stump ) ... there's a lot of leverage possible and the wider they stick out the more severe the leverage issue.

Lateral load on chassis mount style doesn't seem to have been an issue.
