Does it really matter about not being an OME colour when your starting with a black car, if it were me I'd leave the door jams and engine bay black and just paint the exterior, with black highlights and black bar work, I don't think it would look out of place

Is it even worth spraying an XJ considering a really nice 99 was advertised on here for 3k, not so long ago? Smick paint and a few nice accessories to go with it. XJs are selling for next to nothing these days. I personally would rather go out an buy another with perfect paint for 3k or under. But we all love our Jeeps for our own reasons. Having said that Clint, if your in the habit of throwing away money; I could use 2.5k for a new trans.....LOL

Regards A

I don't think you can beat the green, considering all the tight bush tracks, there is very little scratches on mine, I keep it well waxed

Your right but I don't think that's the point, I'm sure we all could have saved a packet by buying a modded Xj rather than buying a stock one and Modding it ourselves but it's more rewarding to build one yourself.
I for one would much prefer to have a custom colour Xj than a factory one, they're all about reflecting a person's individual taste.

I meant it as a bit of tongue and cheek Swoody..... Nearly all of us justify why we spend so much on old bombs that in reality have zero market no matter how good they are......... I am one of the worst culprits. I should have let the attachment to my old bus go a long time ago. But I justify it because I don't want to swap everything over on to what would actually be a better vehicle. The other reason is it's on gas. But I shoulda just let it go and parked it on the block and got one in better condition. But it's the Jeep bug some of us don't become attached, some do.......Dare I speak for Hunno but he is one bloke I know who appears to never get attached. I have seen the cheap XJs he picks up. He actually painted one once as well........ Using a house roller.....lol.

My brothers a spray painter and I have painted cars before not after a show finish or anything so it will really only cost time and paint. Main reason is it will have different colour doors etc on it. If I had 3 k to go and buy a tidy xj I probably would but that's a hell of a lot of mods I can put on the one I have lol

I do see your point but AG
