Question 2011/12 JK drivers seat wearing out

Hi

I have approx 47k on the clock of my 2011 run out JK sport 2DR ( I think the first of the black interriored JK's) , my previous vehicle was a 99 XJ which I bought in 2009 with 130k on the clock. The problem I am having is that the drivers seat in the JK has already started to wear and has a small hole in it as a result. The question I have is has anyone else experienced this and did they have any luck making a warranty claim. I'd expect this to happen on a vehicle with more Ks on the clock. I will post a photo when I get home tonight.

That should definitely be covered under warranty. I've got 120k out of my 2008 with no damage at all to the seats and I'm sure most of us have no issues.

The dealership may argue that your pants are too rough so be mindful of that you wear when you go see them.

Good point , I dont see how wearing jeans could damage it. I mean the jeans dont have rivets in the back. Must remember to wear my pikachu onesie when I see them.

Also be careful how you enter and exit the car while talking to them. I have seen the area rep for another make reject a trim warranty claim because he saw the owner brush against the seat as he sat in the car. I thought the owner was set up but there was no way the decision was being reversed.

Jeans should not be a problem. A reasonable consumer would reasonably expect to be able to wear any clothes they wish and have the seat last significantly longer.
