So your roof has never been off then?

Yeap, it has - last October down in Canberra, wheeled for the day topless and then put the top back on... about 1hr later the sky opened up and peed all over everything - no leaks apart from onto the inside door lock area and the back corners where the freedom panels meet the hard top (on the outside edge if that makes sense - absolutely nothing in the middle that I am aware of)

My leak through the freedom top screws was b'cos the seal was damaged where the one piece hardtop meets the 2 freedom tops.
Funny when I would make a left turn , water would run along the soundbar and drip onto my shoulder, . When I made a right turn, water would run along the sound bar and then drip onto the passenger seat or the wife ! . The front roll cage padding was also soaked...........don't get me wrong guys, love my JK

I Painted over the exposed sponge strip between the rubber seal & the glass with some roofing rubber I had open to stop leaks on my property.
No leaks on the flat roof now but still getting through that dammed tailgate seal.

Any chance of close up pics to where you applied the silicone
Just to make sure were talking about the same area ?
I guess this will be my next step.

Have mitigated the leaking window seal by guiding incoming water coming out of the seal ends from spreading, by guiding it down onto an absorbent cloth on top of a rubber cargo liner.
In the early days the water capillary 'ed itself via the carpet straight into the tool storage area. Also with being parked on a forward slight slope, this capillary action of the carpeting allowed the water to travel down into the rear foot wells. Soaked blooding every where at the time

Would like to get this sorted once and for all, so the silicone will be the next remedy.

Have wondered if the water was getting past the tailgate door / rubber seal then running along the bottom rib of the rubber and entering the seal its self via the small air holes compressed by the closed tailgate door ???

The answer is wide vinyl duct tape from Bunnings.
I had mine back to the dealers time n time again they even upgraded the rubbers to the 14 spec ones with no success, so I just covered the T split with the tape now no leaks.
I'm waiting for someone to develop a T brace that can be fixed to the roof that stops the leaks n squeeks or bring a 1 piece hard top into Aus at an affordable price.
I love my Jk just not so fond of the freedom panel set up.

I found my JK stopped leaking after a layer of moss built up in the gaps... self healing!

So does anyone have a decent fix for the tailgate leak? Was afraid to even look in the rear of the car this morning!
