I Painted over the exposed sponge strip between the rubber seal & the glass with some roofing rubber I had open to stop leaks on my property.
No leaks on the flat roof now but still getting through that dammed tailgate seal.
Any chance of close up pics to where you applied the silicone
Just to make sure were talking about the same area ?
I guess this will be my next step.
Have mitigated the leaking window seal by guiding incoming water coming out of the seal ends from spreading, by guiding it down onto an absorbent cloth on top of a rubber cargo liner.
In the early days the water capillary 'ed itself via the carpet straight into the tool storage area. Also with being parked on a forward slight slope, this capillary action of the carpeting allowed the water to travel down into the rear foot wells. Soaked blooding every where at the time
Would like to get this sorted once and for all, so the silicone will be the next remedy.
Have wondered if the water was getting past the tailgate door / rubber seal then running along the bottom rib of the rubber and entering the seal its self via the small air holes compressed by the closed tailgate door ???
