the transmission is notchy as it's a truck gearbox also used in some benz commercial vehicles, it is not designed to be a smooth sleek shifting unit, mainly due to the large step between first and second. as such it must be shifted accordingly, ie shift smooth and slow, especially between first and second. higher gears shift seamlessly especially once it has warmed up

NSG370 definitely must meet Mopar MS9224. do yourself a favour and use Mopar part number 04874464. the genuine Mopar product is expensive, but so too are the fancy boutique oils like Royal Purple, Amsoil etc.

the oil comes in 1 US quart bottles, near enough to 1 litre and you will need 2 bottles as takes 1.5 Litre for a dry fill

also if you look ate the Penrite data sheet then the Amsoil data sheet for oils that are MS9224, they both differ a fair bit in viscosity when measured in cSt. Penrite 77 @ 40c & 12 @ 100c, Amsoil 48.3 @ 40c & 9.7 @100c. which one is correct?
Thanks for the detailed response and the part number I've sourced some from the local Jeep and use that!

I got Royal Purple Synchromax from a shop in Sydney, Regents Park: GL Lubricants
$20 per 1 quart bottle.

Much cheaper than Autobarn or other "super-chain" shops
