Convert TJ (5 x 4.5") to use JK rims/tyres (5 x 5")
I have this idea in my head that it would be handy to be able to swap around wheels/tyres between my two wranglers (JK & TJ)
Just wondering if anyone has done a conversion of their TJ 5 x 4.5" PCD to use JK (or Grand Cherokee) 5 x 5" PCD.
Was thinking along the line of using a Donor 1999+ GC Dana 30 front end bits including the Hubs and brakes (hey twin piston calipers sounds good) - steering will need some tweaking.
are there 5 x 5 axles that could be simply swapped over on the Dana 44 rear end? or will I need to get the face re-drilled?
I realise that I could use hub adapters, but I'm not keen on the extra track width (or the spacers themselves - a little too Quasi legal for me)
Seeing as how you have both TJ & JK there, measure the backside spacing of both wheels. I think JK run more BSS than a TJ, so you would probably have to run the adapter wheel spacers to prevent rubbing. post up your findings please.
