Default Need a new battery

Jumped in the Jeep, a couple of k's down the road the car started to misfire then died.

Pretty convinced after some charging it is the battery that is completely rooted.

After an opinion, should I just replace the 5 year old standard battery or go for some Optimas? If so what size?

The twin Optimas is a very tight fit and a bit of creative fabbing Jason if you don't really need separated batteries. 5 years out of the stocker is pretty damn good for the outlay.

I currently have a 55Ah battery mounted up in the back to run the fridge, does an admirable job overall.

I seem to recall that your tray was a work of art to squeeze the batteries in Gavin?

Given I do some remote travel I do like the idea of two solid, starting capable batteries under to hood.

The way the Jeep stands at the moment is it will start and run after a charge, however if you try putting it in gear or put your foot on the brakes (pretty random events) it will stall.

Not an ideal situation if you are in the middle of a desert, hence the question/dilemma.

Too bad you weren't a bit closer, I have tossed up selling my set up as I don't really have a need for dual batteries in the WG. I hadn't bothered to look at doing it as I didn't think there was a call for it.

I'm in Brisbane at the moment, not too far away.

Optimas - even just a single Yellow top, work great in Jeeps.

And they LAST!!!!
A mate has one in his early 90's Range Rover and he bought it just before the Sydney Olympics started... that was 2000 or 2001?!!!
