Default Help or advice needed

Hey guys,

About a year a ago my 2009 JKU was involved in a car crash (the other driver was at Fault) and I've been going through legal actions which resulted to a default judgment. Long story short my car is a write off and the other Driver has not paid or help me with anything at all, I didn't have a Comprehensive Car Insurance at the time so I'm stuck with this legal battle and I'm looking at other options that I have.

I was wondering if any of you guys know or can direct me to someone that would want to buy a car that has been written off or possibly sell all the spare parts of my car.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

There are some Jeep wreckers around. More info on your Jeep please. Petrol/diesel? Auto?

Thanks mate,

It's a Manual and Petrol. I'll try and post some photos of my Jeep and I'm meeting with the smash repairs this morning and I will take a few photos of my jeep.

Sorry to hear that - I've been in exactly the same position myself (except my car was not a write-off, just badly damages). Nothing you can do about it. You take them to court and they still don't pay...and then yor stuck with that bill as well. Frustrating!

At first the Smash Repairs told that they can repair it and a few weeks later I got an email from them saying that it's a write off. I've included some photos from the night the incident happened, my Jeep was parked legally on the street and the other driver was coming from a blind curve and smashed in to the back of my Jeep and left it hanging in our neighbours driveway.

Thank you.

Yeah bugger mate. That's no good at all.

Is it actually a write-off? My understanding is that an insurance company has to issue "statutory write-off" status to the car - which effectively puts a whole heap of legal restrictions on it. Without official write-off status it will be worth a lot more money - because its just a damaged car...

Did the chassis get bent?

Does the other guy have comprehensive insurance? If so go the legal way otherwise he will shaft you in the legal system, and you are better off putting a bottle of bleach in his new wheels' petrol tank and moving on.

How much of the repair cost is cosmetic? Write off is an insurance term where the cost of bringing the vehicle back to as new condition exceeds the value of the vehicle.
