Another good point.
In one year of operation in relatively easy off road applications, mine were damaged so much I couldn't even give them away.
Rocks play hell with them.
My steel ones have been on for 4 years in some pretty extreme territory on a very regular basis and have hardly a mark on them.
It is because of the design and set putting the spokes out so close to the outer extremities, not because they are alloy.
Also, I am a little sceptical regarding 785.70/17s not rubbing on standard rims. Mine are on a 4.75" BS and they rub here and there during sharp turns and full articulation. Not enough to concern me though.
