Such false hipster-focused marketing. Almost as bad as when they tried to pitch the KJ renegade to the Escalade crowd:

I disagree. It is why people buy anything other than a Wrangler.

the advertising is probably spot on for the focus groups who they're pitching the Renegade at. hit a emotional spot rather than a practical one.

This renegade advert symbolises the perception of freedom and youth that owning one can provide. Whether it is true or not is irrelevant, what it is perceived as is more important.

Don't hold back and "I bought a Jeep" has probably been one of the most successful vehicle marketing campaigns in australia. What does it do? Focuses only the emotion. Say it enough and people will start to believe it. Every jeep driver thinks they go off road.....even if it is only in their imagination.

I agree Yom. Wrangler is an icon, but Jeep is more than Wrangler.

They do an excellent job of building vehicles that are all things to all people - and have done for decades. I think what Grand Cherokee, Cherokee and Renegade offer is a balance of on and off-road ability that's hard to beat at the price.

Personally, I'm really impressed with how they're positioning themselves for the future and the solutions they're coming up with to maintain genuine off road ability in the face of ever increasing expectations on efficiency, safety, performance, etc.

I also think thats a well targeted campaign........the segment they show in the ad is who they think will buy this vehicle....the renegade is NOT aimed at the market demographic that buys a Wrangler.....even if the Renegade market subconsciously equates "Jeep" with "Wrangler", like all Jeep buyers do.

The irony is that if you loan up on a Renegade you probably won't be able to afford to go travelling the world. Haha
