Default Battery Time...

The original Optima has just about had enough.. Any suggestions on a cost effective (ie cheap) replacement.?

Ok, I have an idea, how about the supercharge MF66r - its cheap.?
Its got 720 cca and is recommended by supercharge as the correct battery for the KJ..

Yes, but the width says 277 and the tray is only about 260..

Sure, but thats the width with the clamp fins, if you cut them of it just may fit..

hmmmm????

-----
So after this conversation with myself and measuring one up, I thought... Its Damn Close.!! and for $100 bucks cheaper than the Optima I'll give it a go and bought one, - online as it was on sale.. ..

----

Turned up today..

Didn't fit.

So I dremeled the side fins off...

Still didn't fit. but damn it was close.......

Put a couple of cuts in the corners of the upturn on the battery tray and it dropped in.. Its tight and pushed the tray out a few mm, but it clamps up fine and, yes, it even started the car.!!!!

So far so good....
