Mate, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, thanks to my recent glow plug adventure, pretty much everything north of the main engine block including the head, the timing belt, water pump, pulleys, tensioner, all related gaskets and bolts, serpentine belt have all been replaced or reconditioned. So now I have new glow plugs, new coolant and I have also recently replaced myself, the fuel filter, had the alternator reco'd. These hoses will be the last money I spend engine wise for quite some time, if I can help it.

Beyond that I think the Jeep is pretty much where I want it....not going to do lift kit or anything, use doesn't warrant it and there is nothing wrong with the stock springs and shocks so far as I can tell.

Ahem....did I say I wasn't doing a lift kit?

Just finished the second bottle of injector cleaner, thought I'd run through a couple and see. Over the past few days, I have seen a huge improvement in the acceleration and general responsiveness of the engine. Not sure if I can 100% attribute it to the injector cleaner, but at $12 a bottle it's hard to go wrong.
I also finally fitted my provent and perhaps this is helping somewhat, filtering that oily air from getting back into the system I guess.

Today checked over the car for any issues & cleaned off some red dust having arrived in Seisa today. Came up the OTT with the trailer behind no probs ( but did bypass Gunshot this time thanks to some quad bikers chewing it up).

Yet to spot any other Jeeps up here. I'm in a group of 9 who can't believe the capabilities of the little KJ. Guess if you're readingvthiscthough you already know how mighty they are.

The corrugations in Lakefield National Park destroyed my OME shocks that I suspect were already on the way out. I bought new Bilstein front and rear shocks. Ordered from the USA so hopefully they wont take too long to arrive. Also got new upper control arms with ball joints, and new lower ball joints plus bushings. $700 Australian all up for the parts, plus another 200 for shipping. The jeep dealership quoted me $5450 for the above parts and install. :0
