Default Diff oils WJ Grand

I want to change my diff oils because recently my woodduck mechanic added lsd additive to synthetic 75/140 which already has the additive and now my qd diffs dont lock up. So I wanted to know what type of oil is the original mopar stuff. Is it standard gl5 oil that you can get from castrol etc.

P.s. I rang one jeep dealer and they said the diff oil needs no additive while another said it does...both did say it was synthetic...which i was kinda hoping they'd say it was mineral based as its easy n cheap to get 80/140.

So is it possible to use mineral based oil with an additive?

i change mine every 50,000kms. the first time i done it i pulled the covers off and cleaned them out and resealed and filled them, after that i simply sucked the old oil out then pumped new oil in as it was much easier and because i cleaned it out thoroughly there wont be much crap in the bottom anyway. i use castrol saf-xa and never had any problems. next time i do it i will probably pull the covers off again for a look, they simply seal back on with silastic but use a god quality one.
