Default Smittybilt SRC Gen2 Tyre Carrier

Anyone running this carrier on a non smittybilt bar ? .
I know it fits the 10th Anniversary bar but wondering if it would fit an AEV rear bar?
Thanks in advance

It should considering the AEV carrier fits the AEV rear as well as the Rubi 10th. I'm running it on the actual SRC Gen 2 bar.

Yeah that's what i was thinking but obviously don't want to pull the trigger until i can confirm.
Are you happy with the build quality & fitting of the carrier?

Thanks
Paul

I'm wondering about the same thing as well. I like my aev rear bar but didn't get the carrier as I'm not too fond of it somehow.

I am really happy with the build quality, the instructions on the other hand leave a lot to be desired.

I actually had gone over the parts and instructions everyday for 4 days before the install just to get an idea of the correct install.

The tyre carier mounts via a very large "C" shaped bracket, (gotta weigh in at 5-6kg in itself it's huge), onto the outside of the drivers side chassis rail. It bolts on via 2 bolts on each side as well as a bolt from the bottom of the chassis rails up.
There is an internal bracket for the rear bar but all rear bars are either going to mount inside the chassis rails.

Thinking about it now it would have to fit because all the bars use the factory holes in the chassis rails as the guide/bolt holes.

Little things I still have to address, wire up the reverse lights, (why the f@rk didn't they get a set that a straight 12v hook up???), a washer on the door side of the spindle as it has a little bit of play when open, paint the bloody silver plates either Anvil or black.

I'm running a 35/12.5/17 Mudhog on a factory JK rim as a spare until I get around to buying a real spare. This has necessitated running a 2" spacer on the tyre carrier until I do.

On a recent snow trip to Mt Skene I was able to strap the Maxtrax to the Rotopax mount quite easily. Didn't move an inch or rattle at all. I was also able to carry a full size shovel between the spare tyre and Maxtrax vertically without any problems.

So assuming the diameter of that "pole" is the same, all we need is to find out if the very large "C" shaped bracket can be fitted with the AEV bar then we can assume it can be done.
