I'd suspect the ventilation cowl drains are clogged.

I haven't had a good look at why it would get wet, my best guess without looking at it is the hole MB cut in the firewall to access injector #5 wasn't sealed properly and allows water ingress, I park it slightly passenger side and nose down which might explain why water runs that way and drips.

I had another look at this last night, I'm fairly confident that water is running down a wire that the previous owner installed, it runs across the top of the PCM and then across the top of the firewall on the outside of the weather seal, no idea why you'd choose that path because water runs down the wire into the engine bay and onto the PCM.

With new terminals crimped on and a dry PCM the Jeep still has the same symptoms, I guess that pin is important. I've spoken to Nepean Motor group who will only install a brand new PCM ~$8500, they say it's impossible to re-program a second hand one and won't fix the old one.

Five Dock Jeep were much more helpful, the guy in parts said the AU price was $8000 but the US price is $2500US (~$3750AU) so if I was going to buy new sourcing it from the US would be better, they are identical units. He then put me on to their service department, the guy I spoke to there said he hadn't re-programmed a second hand PCM but had seen it done when he was in Canada and would be willing to give it a try because it should be possible. PCM programming would cost $150. He also gave the number of a place that does performance tuning on Jeep ECUs as they might be able to repair the existing one.

So, has anyone had a WJ CRD PCM reprogrammed/replaced in Australia? How did you do it? From what I've read it might be possible to replace the PCM, SKIM, BCM, Ignition barrel and keys with units from another CRD.

Grab a ELM327 USB interface, download this program: http://jeepswj.com/software/ and read the codes.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-ELM327-...-/331508166559

If you want a new ECU, you need the keys alongside the ECU too. A friend of mine fried his CRD ECU because of frayed wiring and simply replaced with his spare. No coding, he only needed the correct key.

I've uploaded the pages from the FSM which detail the ECU pinouts:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/b7pyct
There also are schematics showing the wire routing in the FSM, I have them bookmarked and can upload whatever you want/need.

If you have time, go through all relevant pins and check for appropriate signals and voltages and check that all the ECU pins are soldered nicely to the board:

This is the TCM, same principles apply

Once that's sorted, wiring checked and it still does not start, look at all the solder joints on the board with a magnifying glass, check for corrosion. If anything is suspicious, re-solder. Or take it to a phone repair shop, they have the tools and the skill to re-solder chips.

IF the ECU gets power and it still does not start, diagnosing it could get time-consuming, so balance out time vs money for a good ECU

Any jeep dealer can do it with a DRB3, I can do it but will need the CRD ECM, Skim module, transponder key, and security access code (get from dealer with VIN)
I am in Maryborough Qld
Cheers John
