I forgot how much of a sore right hip I get from driving the jk crd. Anyone else feeling the same? Think I might have to try this as well.

Big thanks to this thread!

Did this little mod this morning and could not be happier, feels 10 times better and easier to drive.

Used plastic builders wedges from bunnings which worked well, but would have just been a little better if they were 15-20mm longer, but regardless, it works.

I also bought a timber wedge from bunnings which may have been just a little better fit, but couldn't bring myself to screw timber to the Jeep! My backup plan if the bunnings wedges turned out to be unsuitable was to go to a mower/chainsaw shop and buy those plastic wedges you use when cutting timber to stop the chain bar from being jammed.

Brought the pedal to just below the brake height, which turned out to be exactly the same height difference that my Falcon has - which in the 330k km I've done in that has never felt like a problem.

Thanks for this thread, and If I could work out how to 'thank' posts I would.

Hey all, sorry for the potentially really dumb questions.

I've just bought my jk manual diesel, and am looking forward to doing this mod.

Had a go of it today, and cant for the life of me figure out how to get access to the top hex nut. Maybe im doing something wrong, but just cant seem to get to it at all.

Do you need to take most of the dash apart to get to it?

thanks in advance for the help.

Nope, ynless something has changed I just used a 1/4 in drive socket and a short (prob 2 in) extension bar.

ok thanks a bunch. Ill give it another go.

I've read everyones write ups a bunch of times, so im trying not to ask already answered questions.

The bolts that are coming through the fire wall that you originally take the hex nut off, and you eventually replace with the two longer M6 bolts that go through the new wedge, are they accessed from the engine bay somehow, or just under the dash too?

Again, thanks a lot for the help.

I'm +$600 in the hole from seeing a physio because of crippling hip-flexxor issues in my right leg nerve because of the dropped accelerator pedal. Finally figured out what was causing it (yep - factory settings) and this mod it first thing I'm going to do...once I can bend under the dash to reach it. I'm running 40mm wood blocks and some deftly placed zip-ties for now.

Thank Jeep.
