Going to have a go at replacing the 2 hoses that come off the back of the water pump, later this week, can anyone tell me what needs to come off to access them, ATM I'm thinking the fan belt, water pump, and housing, thermostat housing, top intercooler pipe, and maybe the air filter pipe, any tips welcome
Mike

Total prick of a job. I have done it. The biggest problem is getting at the hose clamps. When I put the new ones in I made sure to position the clamps so I could tighten them.
You may end up taking the oil filter out. The hoses are probably the ones that go to the oil cooler. need to check the pipes on the cooler to make sure they are not stuffed.
Some yank must have upset the Italians real bad to have VM do what they did.
Good luck!

Well success today, slowly getting the hang of the diesel, managed to get to the oil cooler hoses without, taking out the water pump housing, I reluctantly spent $110 on a gadget for getting the hose clamps on, worth every cent

Plugged the exhaust manifold egr port, and have given the valve the flick and plated it off
Hoses for the job should arrive tomorrow, oem at 30 bucks eachClick image for larger version

All fixed now, gave the cooling system a good flush, and refilled with CAT ELC
