i have the hi techs and have had no issues for at least 5 years, picked them up from the factory here in SA and good blokes there. had a typical cracked stock set that i replaced and was so quiet with stock exhaust but then changed to 2.5 with high flow cat of ebay and turbo muffler. doesnt drone but gives a nice bark when needed.

Good feedback mopar and ruffy. I will be going for one of these two.. at the moment its the Wildcats, as i dont need stainless because i am going to get mine ceramic coated, and the Wildcats are $250 less. I also like the idea of getting rid of the restrictive bend coming from the headers, which the Wildcats and Hitechs do.
I like the twin pipes coming off the Wildcats, which is what the original Hitechs had.
What bolt couln't you get in ruffy? middle bottom somewhere. I was thinking of notching those out so you could put bolts in first and just slide the extractors on.
Cheers,

Cheers,
Hey, I would like to know the reason why that on the stock exhaust just after the flange that the headers attach to, the pipe is pinched/sqashed together restricting the flow. I know back pressure is needed. But is it needed? Even after you've installed extractors?

I'm not fixing it, I'm improving it!

I have no evidence to prove this, because I have put a roof rack on before the extractors. My gut tells me yes. My other car with the wildcat's and bigger tyres got factory fuel consumption on the highway from 12.6 litres/100km, down to 9.9 litres/100km.
But as always, it depends how heavy your right foot is!

Cheers,
Yeah, middle bottom somewhere
If I had to refit again, I would put a stud there and start the nut before fitting the intake manifold. The intake will slot over it, I was using a 2000 model intake, may have made it harder.

OK, decided to go with the Genie Wildcat headers for a few reasons. They seem to have some good reviews, are made in Australia, the secondary pipe that replaces the restrictive OEM one is a twin pipe job that really de-restricts the system, and the price is good which saves me $250 over the Hitech model and can be used to pay for the ceramic coating. For me, the ceramic coating is a priority to help reduce under hood temps.
