Default KJ DISABLE TPMS !! yay that only took 10 years

I've spent the last few weeks doing some electrical/electronic projects that have been floating around in my head for some time...

Here is one...
I can disable the TPMS on the KJ (Petrol or CRD) regardless if it has EVIC or just the warning light in the IP cluster. Its does require a diagnostic tool that can access the program function of the TPMS.

I'm offering this as a free courtesy thing for any ausjeepoffroad members in Perth with a KJ that wants this done. Handy if either your sensors have failed (not the most reliable item) or you have changed your wheels and don't have them fitted.

This thought has been bugging me as on the KK it's a simple matter of setting the TPMS sensor codes to all 00000000 (how ever many there is). This unfortunately didnt work on the KJ and was told that "only the dealer could do it".

Regards
Daz

P.S I've searched all over the internut and didnt find a solution, please correct me if I'm wrong

Hi Daz,

TPMS never really bothered me until I started doing more offroading, where I need to lower my tyre pressure. Now I understand why you disabled it.

Would there be anyone in Brisbane that could do this cheap (I don't have a scan tool) ?

Just an update...
Here is the funny craziness part..

On the early KJ (no ESP) putting the code 22122212 works a treat, later model KJ (with ESP), the code seems to input and it works UNTIL you drive around and get near another Jeep, then it picks up other sensors and starts to flash the orange dash light or the EVIC says service TPMS (something like that).

On the later KK, the zero code 00000000, again only resets or stays off until it finds another Jeep.

So in all, unfortunately its not a permanent off function.

Regards
Daz

Yes but I cant do that through the programming option.

On Range Rovers of the era that bmw owned LR, you could do excatly that, set the trip pressure really low and all was good.
