I also have this thing coming this week, and will connect it up to a tablet and see what it shows whilst driving, especially the voltage reading. ELM327 OBD2 OBDII Bluetooth Interface Engine Scan Tool Code Reader For Android http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261701690...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT just hope it works as I have tried one of those bigger plug in hand scanners, and it never could comincate with the ECU.

Hmm.

As said previously, it's pointing towards electrical.
Ironically, another member just posted a high charge problem....

I'm wondering if it isn't a PCM issue??
Wonder if the battery temp sensor can cause this scenario....???

With that plugged in and bluetoothed to a tablet, you should be able to see your voltage and all sorts of shit while driving along. It just may be a voltage thing.. lets hope so and be done with the problem for good. When you were driving along in the day with the lights off and the miss came and you got rid of it by using the lights, do you turn the lights back off to see if the miss was re-introduced? That may help diagnose if it is that.

Keep up the good work... the mystery may be solved soon....

Cheers,

I'm with Bruggz.
Another thing is the the headlight switch have been known to give problems.
They usually burn out if you are running higher watt globes. It's strange the problem is there with headlights off though. If you run relays for headlights like the JJ harness upgrade, you may simply have a bad relay. I think you are now nearly at the end of this saga. Good luck with it.

Cheers,
No I left the lights on, must have been distracted from the metal stiffy I got seeing it looks like I am finally making some sense with this gremlin, and felt like take that gremlin when I turned the lights on. But I will leave the lights of next time I go out during the day, and when the gremlin comes out, lights on to clear it, than lights off to see what happens.

As long as that OBD2 gadget works, than I will have a look at voltage, temp and a few others to see whats going on.

Where is the battery temp sensor? Inside the ECU?
