Ok, some updates. Did the EGR delete finally!

No CEL, seems to be working. I went on a test drive to check the smoking - still some black smoke on load, not sure if it decreased any. Anyway, my CRD never smoked awfully bad - just some light black smoke on load, not thick black smoke.
I didn't notice a better throttle response, but I might need to drive it some more to feel it. I will also keep an eye on fuel economy, as I've read in other forum, a guy with 2.7 CRD reported 1l/100km reduction in fuel consumption (in reality and on EVIC). Not expecting it, but will see.

I've compared my OBD data before and after EGR delete. The test drive was exactly the same distance/route both cases. It seems that Fuel Flow and MAF readings are different after EGR delete. All other conditions/temperatures are same, except the intake temperature which is probably due to non-functioning EGR and also it's about 5'C warmer outside. 0-100 km/h test result was also the same - 18 seconds.
Anyone could comment on these readings?

Also, I'm attaching a few images showing how I wired the EGR shunt. I was too lazy to dig into the loom near the manifold to find he Yellow/White MAF wire, so I just opened up the loom near the LP fuel pump and spliced a wire there. Tidied everything up and zip-tied the wire onto the vacuum pump hose - pretty much invisible..
On the EGR end, I didn't cut the plug in case I ever need to enable EGR again - I've just spliced two wires to it. By the way - one was Red/Green as it should, but my other wire was Yellow/LightBluishPurple instead of Brown/Green as in other CRDs . Anyway, I've encased the shunt in a semi-clear tubing (it's a BIC pen casing ) and shrink-tubed the ends. Also added a note "EGR DELETE" inside, in case it ever goes to another owner

Mine used to smoke continuously before the delete, and profusely under load. I'm surprised you haven't noticed much of a difference.

Personally I think the numbers are simply due to environmental differences on different days. I don't think there is anything there that is significantly different.

One part of the process down.

Maybe because mine never smoked continuously... Only some white smoke on cold start and light/medium black smoke with foot on the floor.
Even if it won't help with the smoke - at least the manifold will not suffer from clogging anymore..

Interesting that it doesn't smoke much. I'd run the cleaner through it sooner rather than later, I think it will make a difference.

Cleaner already ordered. Also waiting for borescope camera to arrive, I'm thinking of doing some before/after shots of inside of manifold, to see if the cleaner does anything..

Might also stick that borescope to cylinders to see how they look...

Seems a few people don't.

Take a pic with a phone camera you will be able to see it eventually.

No. This is why you can tell the ECU how they deliver fuel. From memory 3 of mine are the same and two are completely different.

You can get the ECU programmed to suit the injector classification of the installed injector.

DRBIII or equivalent - any good dealer should be able to sort this out.

To the best of my knowledge, this is all you need to do.

Some are different, you'll see this is common across all engines.

Not sure about this but the ECU programming may be a little different in the Jeep.

Have you pulled your EGR vale and checked the spring is seating it against the seat in the manifold?
