Hmmm... its what the nuffy at Autobarn recommended. But to be fair it is a nulon product and it is listed on their lube guide. I guess the high km doesnt help.

Too late you think? Is the damage done?

If your option is to replace the motor then I would try the thicker oil.

Well I will need someone to have a look at it to determine the exact issue I think..

But i might try a 20-50w in it first.

Doing a search on here looks like there are a few using a 10-40 oil, so i am skeptical a 20-50 oil is going to solve all my woes.

Cheers

Check out http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/low-...ure-idle-5093/

Could be your oil, especially since the symptoms happen after the engine and oil are warmed up.

Fresh heavier oil.

Oil pump or clogged pick up tube.

"The oil gallery behind the sending unit getting clogged with sludge. So I took off the mechanical gauge and left the brass adapter in the hole and stuck a short piece of rubber hose to that and into a drain pan. I then turned it on and revved it at 4000 for about 8 seconds and shut it off. I checked the drain pan and found some obvious bits of sludge that had been blown out. I connected the mech gauge again and topped off the oil. Turned it back on and problem solved! Pressure at idle now 18-20 psi and 60 psi at 2500. Replaced original sender and dash gauge was back to normal." http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f19/4...fixed-1304679/

Cheers,

20W-50 no no no..........check your Operators manual etc....10W-30 (-18degC thru to 40+ degC) is the recommended grade, and will do the job no worries, 15W-40 would be my MAX limit....if your loosing oil pressure, you have other issues.
