Just having a friendly dig mate, Mr. wooders is always coming from a good place and is always looking out for jeep owners and while he does that he will always have my respect, but let's not forget he is also a business so we have a duty to challenge him on what he is presenting in a public forum

But for those looking at aux tanks you should know that in SA, NSW & QLD you are unlikely to get it certified anymore, QLD & NSW will be changing their rules to prevent aux tanks being installed. Also worth understanding that installing more fuel means you also lower you load capacity which is not much to start with in the TJ.

Either way you go, the TJ definitely needs more fuel capacity, and yes jerry cans are cheap they are also a pain in the backside to transport and fill a tank with.

Thanks for the replies. Honestly was just looking for an indication of the under hang.

The LR guys mentioned they can put a 5mm plate on the bugger, and it will sit down about 15mm, for future punters.

With regards to Genright - couldn't find a local mob who sells em (not surprising), after shipping and tax etc it was not looking all that great. Happy to be pointed in direction here if you know of a way.

Do a search, find the thread started by Oli_TJ on his TJ build before he toured the country in his TJ, sure he had a 47 litre Long Range accessory tank fitted to his rig. There would be pics

Genright hangs less than an inch lower, but it also adds a serious bash plate (5mm) that ensures the slightly lower tank does not affect anything.

No-one here does them, you will have to order from OS, tank is around the $1100 USD mark and shipping is around $200 AUD, not much more than a LR tank once converted to AUD, you will get more volume, a significantly stronger and better made tank, no farting around to fit it, easier to fill with less ongoing problems and it will take up less room than the LR. I do however advise to replace your 2 fill hoses while you are there if you decide to go this route.

Back in the day I got my genright tank and other genright gear from Wooders, now I don't know who does it here if anyone.
