Default XJ alloy conical wheel nuts on steelies

I have done a bit of a search and get conflicting advice.
I have an XJ Cherokee with the original alloy wheels. The nuts on these are conical and not the flat style with washer. I have trial fitted a wheel using the lug nuts from the alloy wheels. As you can see below, the nuts sit a little proud of the steel rim. The rims are Pro Comp. Any idea if this is OK, or is there another nut that has to be used.

Cheers,

My ZG Limited alloys mount with "conical" nuts - they are actually standard steel conical nuts with a chrome metal wrap over the steel.

I was always under the impression that alloys should be bolted on with flat face nuts and washers, but this is what Jeep do, unlike Range Rover, Land Rover and Mercedes that I know for sure.

Used to be like that but it looks like someone has changed the rules in recent years.
I have the same setup on my JK. I have had no issues with my steelies or nuts in over 6 years.
I actually think the nuts are probably more suited to the steel wheels than the alloys.
Anyhow, I'm not concerned.
