Default Another aftermarket head unit thread.

Gents,

I've read the stuff I can find on the forums, and I am a bit confused.

Does my '05 GC Limited have a separate amp?

I am struggling to justify the cost of all the add ons to make a standard double din work, so I am thinking about these:

I am hoping someone can tell me if they are adequate. I don't really need navigation, but I would like Bluetooth for music and hands free. I also like the idea of a reversing camera.

If anyone has fitted one of these direct install units, I would love to hear your feedback.

Cheers,

Robert

I will watch this with interest, I am also confused as to which unit I need. Mine is an 08 model and a lot of the eBay units say theirs only do up to 07. Yet mine looks like the same style as that one you linked and it says up to 08

If you have a 6 disk head unit then yes you have an amp, from memory it is located in the back behind the panel under the window that has the antenna built in.

The 08 update model started a few months into 2008 (Commander may have been even later) so it is possible you have a pre- update model if you have that style radio.

At least that solved one conundrum. Thanks Clarky

I can find a lot of generic feedback about the make of head unit, and of course most of it is negative based on assumptions.

I would like to hear from anyone who has fitted one of these direct install units before I purchase.

Cheers,

Robert
