Default New Hub/Bearing selection

So I have a 2000 model TJ but im putting a HP30 into it (FINALLY!) from an older XJ. I figured I might as well put new hubs in while Im doing it but Im finding they are listed in different year groups and Im a little unsure about which ones to buy. Does anyone know what the difference is between the listed options? Also what brand do most people use? I looked on ebay and there are a heap but no "brands". Will the quality of the bearing be the main thing to look for?

Timkin. Simply, don't use anything else if you want them to last.
I have a HP30 conversion, trussed and gusseted and running 35 Simex and they are holding up well.

Amazon has a checker where you enter your make model and year and it will tell you the compatibility.

The only place i recall seeing timken was Summit racing when i was looking for the TJ.
Like 4 or 5 times the price plus heaps for postage.
Went with cheap ebay ones again.
Got 4 years ,40,000 kms out of the last set.

Even the big US distributors like Quadratec dont have a Timkin option. For the price I got my ones off ebay if they cark it then Ill just get another set. I cant see anything happening with a hub bearing thats so catastrophic that it would badly damage any other components around it.

I'd use no other unit hub bearing but Timken. Your year model needs the HA597449 part number. The earlier ones had 6mm more offset and used different rotors. The new ones are a better dual ball bearing design. It'll cost you $250-300 for the pair delivered from the US but you'll get 140,000kms from them.

As for what can go wrong... first they make a terrible high pitched noise, then they rumble. You'll get some bad wheel shimmy. It's not worth saving a buck to waste time replacing them yearly IMO. Skimping on these is like skimping on brakes or steering. I'd consider $300 to be pretty cheap insurance
