The method that Midnightmods is talking about disables the chime but the light on the dash remains on so that might be what you need.

1.Get in the Jeep and put your setbelt on
2.Turn the key to ACC
3.Once the seatbelt light goes out, unbuckle and rebuckle the belt at least 3 times within 10 seconds. Leaving the belt buckled on the last go.
4. Turn the key to OFF and remove the key.
5. It should chime once to let you know it was successful.
Does this work on 07 models though? I believe I tried this some time back but it was unsuccessful.

This

Wearing a seat belt should be an automatic response in any vehicle at any speed
And I grew up in an era when they wernt mandatory and have had a few cars where they weren't factory fitted an I fitted them
10ks an hour on the beach and hit a washout without a belt is going to hurt at the least
I realy have never got the issue with wearing them

Agreed 100%.

That being said, for people like us that have grown up to be taught to wear our seat belts and it comes as second nature, you really notice how little you need the warning chime and light when the system is functioning incorrectly.

In mine, the alarm doesn't go off until you are moving at 5-10 km/h and not once in the year I put up with it was my seat belt not engaged. The only real value I see in the alarms is when they are connected to all seats and you have kids in the car that haven't been taught properly yet, or are too young to understand.

I think you should be able to disable this warning system for the driver's seat in every car.

Thanks Nanook, i'll try that, tho I don't think that's what I did
with the '07. All good, try anyway.

And yes I also grew up when belts weren't fitted and I allways wear it on road, sometimes offroad.

I Never wear it my truck tho as I've seen too many drivers caught in their trucks and died. I'd rather take my chances.
