Question Brake Pedal Ratchet?

My brake lights seem to occasionally come on all by themselves even if I'm not in the car , spoke to Paul at CJD & he seems to think (without looking at the car) that it could be the ratchet on the brake pedal.
How easy is this to replace does anybody know?

First thing I'd look at is the adjustment of the light switch itself before I looked any further.

Default Brake Pedal Ratchet?

Easy to replace, just slides into bracket on brake pedal, takes 30 seconds once you've done it a few times. Try adjusting the rachet out first.

If you've got a brake controller it could be that too, I had to disconnect mine due to it playing games

The Tekonsha Prodigy Brake controller was famous for doing this, caused a lot of flat batteries in the caravanning community.
