Default Getting lift certified in NSW

Hi all,

I have a 2008 Jk unlimited diesel auto. Had 2.5 inch lift installed by Murchison Products in Brisbane.

I am now living in NSW and need an engineers certificate to have it registered. The nearest bloke who can do it is over an hour away. It has turned into a bit of a nightmare trying to get him to do it.

I am just wondering if I can get an engineer in QLD to issue a certificate that would be recognised in NSW.

If so, any recommendations in Brisbane?

Only those on the RMS approved certifiers list are accepted.

Errr,....dont think so for NSW regoed vehicles.

Best to ring up NSW RMS technical line....they usually pick the phone up pretty quick.

The list had changed since I've used it some time ago, but there used to be some engineers that had multiple state accreditation.....worth checking into.
Have you actually physically measured your vehicle....lifts tend to sag a bit from their published ride height.....you may not need an engineer.

Pretty sure NSW self approves for up to 50mm of spring lift.

enquired about this last monday from rms if WA certificate could be used for NSW as the blue slipper thought there was talk of a nationally recognised one, answer was only for vehicles over 4.5 ton so no you cant. not sure whos making the money govt or engineers, gotta pay about $1500 to duplicate what I already have. One bloke said he thought maybe SA would recognise NSW, whatever its a rort.

Hi All,

THanks to those who replied with useful information. I have found a guy that will come to me in Brisbane. He is recognised by NSW RMS and will do it at a good price.

He has asked for the engine number which would be on the Registration info but I don't have it with me. Does anyone know where I would find the engine number?

Thanks in advance.
