Tyres caused my DW. Bought jeep from new. Developed DW at about 50000km and swapped original silent armour tyres for 33inch muddies at around 60000km. Fixed all DW. This most likely was not the signal thing that caused it like the previous poster said it's usually 2 or 3 items. I just removed one of the causes and found it fixed the issue. Tyres seem to be the last thing anyone checks and is often not on the list.

Your top three are my immediate go to - ball joints + trackbar

Trackbar mount has been oval shaped on every JK i've looked at (which is why replaceing the fully threaded 14mm bolt with a 9/16 (14.7mm) bolt with a longer shank or unthreaded section works so well and helps heaps)

IMHO - The "fix" of torquing up the trackbar bolts to 125 nm is not one I agree with ... wow, just wow..... unfortunately that bush doesn't have a floating crush sleeve - so it's just waiting to rip the bush apart - if you want to use that method then you need to change the rubber bush to one that has a crush sleeve.

Torquing the track bar to 125ft-lb isn't a 'fix' it is the manual spec. (That's 169nm, by the way!)

Specs are from here: Project JK: Jeep JK Wrangler Torque Settings

I have had DW many times and always only when the OE Wrangler tyres were fitted (I had 2 sets). I have never had it with other tyres (MT Good year and Indian make). I did have all the front end pretty much replaced. Ball joints, track bar, etc etc and it still did it but only with the OE tyres.

I am aware that this is not the (only) reason for DW but I really think the OE tyres play a big part. I have always found them to be difficult to balance and they always lose balance very early after having been done. I still have a set with about 30000km left on them but i have decided not to re-fit them.

Cheers

Yes.
And also note that bolt torques such as this is about the bolt and has little to do with its application. Doesn't matter if it's a bush on a Jeep or a flux capacitor on a DeLorean.
Regardless of OEM recomendations, they are usually according to a standard bolt torque chart.

The bit I left out was not being able to undo a trackbar bolt with my "regular" rattle gun - only puts out maybe 400 NM odd zzz

Did manage to get it off with the wrist breaker (Code name for elbow poppin 1000 NM rattlegun) after a 10 second burst... NFI how the bolt didn't sheer, poor thing is only 14 mm

Donkey Kong must have done it up

I have a meter long breaker bar for those bolts... (Originally got it when I was using a press to change the ball joints and needed the extra leverage to get them out.)
