Default Suspension surgery for TJ

Hi all, at a recent roadworthy, I was told that the suspension on my 2000 TJ is pretty shot and almost illegal. Certainly she handles a bit like a wet cardboard box.

I have a quote from Pedders Brookvale to replace some control arms and all the bushings for about $2,080.

Question - is there anything specific I should ask for in terms of type or brand name of bushing or control arm?

Bumblebee has had a lift by a PO, no idea if it was done right. She is used 99% for suburban runaround and maybe 1% on the beach. All advice welcome!

Advice? Go somewhere else?

What is actually wrong with the suspension?

Why do the control arms need replacing?

Have heard of people getting Pedders free 100,000 point suspension check , and been left wondering how they survived the trip there.Quoted many thousands of dollars, went else where and got a few bushes replaced , and everything was fine.

Pedders Brookvale will rip you a new one. Complete control arms are cheap and most other parts too.
Get another opinion and shop around.

Hi,

Not sure if this will help, but I am looking to order from http://www.4x4point.com.au/

I got ready to fit control arms ( fitted with bushings) +links. +cushions $547.70 + 61.60 postage
New steering damper will be $68

Located near Fraser Island.

And Sebastian replies so quickly.
Unless someone has had bad experiences with them, might be worth a shot!
