That looks to be the correct part but with code P0702 I suspect the fault will be with the shifter PCB.
Your gearbox is a Mercedes 722.6 - W5A580. You must use oil to Mercedes spec MB236.14. Do not use ATF+4.
The sticky "everything 2.7 CRD" is your friend.

My understanding was that you only need to replace the plug if it's leaking transmission fluid from there?

From jeepswj.com:
P2212 ID 76 Internal Shifter failure

I suspect your shifter PCB is on it's way out.
ALL WG CRD's have the Mercedes 5-speed automatic: NAG1, 722.6. W5J400, W5A580, whatever you want to call it, they are all the same name.

Snowy Jeep is correct, you only need to change the plug if it's leaking. Also, for such small parts, it might be best to check the local Mercedes stealership, they should have it in stock. I usually ring them up and ask for the part by part number, no more "oh, what's your vin number" conversation.

I am told it's possible for that plug to leak internally as it were allowing oil to capillary up the wire into the electronics without showing an external leak. Not 100% sure about this.

If this is happening, it will show up at the TCU. The TCU sits under the centre console on the right front. It's about 6 or 8 screws and 15 minutes to pull it out.

I did it Saturday - pulled it apart, cleaned it, resoldered the terminals, lacquered the PCB and had the Jeep back on the road in about 2 hours total including coffee time. Didn't fix my problem but it was a fun morning. [emoji12]
