No comments from LPGers on the gas availability?

It still seems readily available but the story now has me investigating aux tanks or full tank replacement. I'm thinking 150 litres would be ideal. It should be well under half the cost of LPG now the rebate has gone.

From what the story says LPG doesn't seem worth the investment at this point unless you get it done for a great price. Using the spare tyre space for another fuel tank could possibly extend range by 75% or more?

But are you struggling to find LPG or haven't really noticed? Petrol is around 50% more in weight, another factor in this decision.

You are right KK, in that cost will win out, even with the weight factor.

I guess you can expect an aux fuel tank thread...

No I haven't noticed. Where I live and drive regularly it's unlikely LPG will be hard to find any time soon but I'd suspect there will be some garages turning off their pumps in time.

Tanks aren't cheap though and being custom may be even worse unless you can get an off the shelf item to fit.

Default Lpg tank and lift kit

Hi Folks

I was looking at the Prins (?) system, but once I bought it and remounted my spare somewhere it was going to cost a lot of petrol! I was also thinking of ripping out the whole rear under-tray area to allow a bigger tank under the floor.

Maybe also connect a fitting that would allow it to be filled by a gas-refill place, unless pressures or rules don't allow?

On a side note, I live on a sand island and have been blown away by the awesome difference a 2" lift kit ($1500 EFS) and larger tyres have made. No scraping or struggling in tyre ruts with the tyre pressures lowered to 20psi, and the speedo is only about 4 kph out. Two inch is apparently the largest totally legal lift. The new springs and shocks have made the ride nice and solid again too

Cheers

Hi Smik, I wondered about filling up from a refill tank once. Turns out it's kind of a different gas and won't fully refill an automotive tank as there isn't enough pressure. It's probably a bit illegal too? You could cut out the tray as it's not structural as far as cross members is concerned.
