Default Towing with JKU Diesel

Hi,
I need some help and guidance, I was wondering if anyone has/is using their JKU for towing a caravan and if so what mods are required to do so

Thanks in advance

I have towed mu caravan to tasmania from perth and back plus many more trips.
I depends on how big your caravan is ours is 17 foot single axel. Mine is a diesel auto I don't have a transmission cooler. But perth isn't hilly like over east so I would put one one if you like in a hilly area. I run air bags in the rear and that's about it. I don't think the jk is a good towing car some other will say different.

Makes for an interesting read, I don't plan to go too heavy with a van, will definitely look at airbags/oil cooler/medium duty coil springs with the airbags should possibly do the job, if not, will look at selling my jeep and buying something that will do the job.

Cheers

We towed a 14 ft poptop for 8 years with our 07 crd auto unlimited it did a pretty good job but didn't like hot days and would de rate the motor or at times cut power totaly and leave us stranded in the middle of the road, there are a lot of better tow vehicles out there, we have since upgraded our van to a 17ft poptop and now tow it with a WH 5.7 grand cherokee, I do not miss the wrangler, before we had the van we towed a Tvan with the wrangler with no problems at all. I'll try and find some pics.

Yer now I have a wh diesel for towing still got the jk but it's been retired from towing. Problem with it uses most of its power to propelling self when it's windy put a caravan on it worse.
I use to tow with over drive off and it would be ok our caravan only was light. Put something larger on there I think it would struggle in my 2010 jk the gear box ratios could be better as been closer together would help
