Default My14 Electronic Throttle Control Issue

Well my first actual problem in the GC apart from S49 recall etc.

Coming home from work today I gave the GC a little boot and at around 3500rpm it seemed to lose all power the next thing I see is the Electronic Throttle Control Service message come up and the check engine light come on.

Car went into limp mode for the remainder of the trip home luckily only 5 minute drive.

Car just had its 58k service last wednesday at Cricks Mt Gravatt and booked in to be checked this Friday.

Anyone else have this issue with the diesel GC and what was the outcome.

I have checked the turbo hoses etc as I read sometimes the dealer doesnt fit them correctly but all okay, Even the slightly dodgy factory connection to the throttle body.

When they go into limp mode the throttle error is often displayed, so it may be theres another issue causing limp mode. There should be an error that Jeep service can read, or you can read with a OBD scanner.

Giving it a bit of boot then having limp mode come up reminds me of dpf issues, but just a guess.

Just heard from cricks

Apparently the MAF sensor is faulty and it cannot detect the air fuel ratio correctly which triggers limp mode.

Anyone had a MAF sensor go on a car that is just over 3 years old?

I am a little skeptical as the car was serviced Wednesday last week, I drove home, to work and back Thursday, worked from home Friday, didnt use over weekend then to our office Monday, faulted Tuesday less than 300 klms after service.

Maybe the plug wasnt fitted correctly if removed to service or damaged so how at the service.

Car is still under warranty its just the inconvenience of it all really.

They also mentioned car has a bit of oil in the intercooler outlet pipe and wanted to replace this, anyone had this issue and is it worth fitting a catch can to the deisel?

Cheers

Heard of a few bad MAF sensors, I reckon that was the problem with Teg Sethi's (the guy that did the Jeep Lemon rap song) going by his error codes, but his dealer couldn't work it out. I think KJ Rider had this too.l

Apparently not covered by my extended warranty

Dealer contacting jeep

Have ordered one through rock auto for $275AUD shipped so see what happens. A lot cheaper than the $1200plus quoted by dealer
