Default Tie Rod Cross Over Conversion TJ Wrangler

Has anyone actually done this ? I'm a little tired of the weak inverted Y setup.

The pics below are of Rusty's Offroad RS-SC250-UV Heavy Duty Tie Rod Kit. I'm not sure if this could simply be fitted up to a RHD vehicle (although I can't see why not).

You end up in the same place mate, that is still as crap as an inverted Y, you just changed up for an inverted T with same issues.....

Have a look at the Iron Rock one, you can run the tie rod "over the top" to get it up out of the road but the steering geometry is kept the same as inverted Y, only with a solid connection to the knuckle instead of the tie rod so no slop from joints.

Bolts straight in and beefy as

The issue I'm having is the bend in the drag link - either bending more or straightening out. I've upgraded to a stronger drag link and heavy duty tie rod, but the easiest of obstacle see's my steering wheel move 45 degrees. Not even my mates Triton does this (a little embarrassed). Having both wheels connected directly by a single rod would solve this issue - which is why JK went this way. I just want to find someone that can sell me one.

Yes, I originally went with the inverted T setup and the various "fixes" to try and make them work a little better than inverted Y. In the end, I got sick of the play and went with the IRO setup and never looked back. Out of all the steering updates (and I have done everything), this is easily the best value for money upgrade, the only thing I like more is having a ram....

What length were your tubes (in particular the Tie Rod tube)?? I like the look of the IRO setup.

That is when it was on stock setup, standard d30 on front. Kit comes in 2 sizes, one to drill holes out on knuckles so they no longer have a taper and the other comes with some shims to correct the taper in the knuckles. I went for the kit with shims, have had no issues with ram on 35's.

I use dry chain lube for keeping the joints from squeaking in the cold.
