Default Electrical Gremlin

Hi All

It s been a while since Ive been here at Ausjeep but I need some guidance/input/ideas for an issue that has recently started happening.

WK2 diesel, 2013, 115,000km

All of the lights on the selec - terrain selector light up and 4 low lights up on the dash. This happens randomly and only for 1-2 seconds. The dash then tells me the car is in auto mode (complete with bell) before everything appears normal again on the dash. The Jeep still drives fine while this is happening.

One occasion this happened before I could drive out of the garage. This time with the gear selector in D the gearbox didnt engage while the selec - terrain gremlin appeared (engine revved like it was in neutral).

Jeep technicians couldnt find any problems and no error codes were found.

Has anyone experienced this and if so what was the fault and solution.

If anyone has an idea of where to point the techs I'd appreciate that too

Thanks

Probably different issue but I had some random lights and chimes on my last one and it was just a loose earth under the bonnet, apparently the tech unbolted the earth, cleaned up the surface and all good.

Loose earth is a common cause of gremlins, otherwise sounds like a bad sensor somewhere.

Try and check the TIPM under the bonnet. Perhaps spray the entire TIPM top and bottom with with some CRC.

Just a wild thought, google TIPM Jeep.

Interesting........

Auto wipers activate randomly....have done since new. Since they would wipe once on a dry screen I never really put much thought into it.....

Add to the list of things for the techs to look at. Thanks imaz
