It's very easy to spend someone else's money but P0702 does point to the PCB. If you are certain your new battery is the correct one and fully charged then I would think it's very likely the PCB at fault. Incidentally disconnecting the battery does nothing on the 2.7 CRD, only works on petrol models. You can get a ELM 327 interface fairly cheaply (make sure it's a genuine one not a Chinese knock off) and download jeepdiag app to your smart phone and you can read and erase these codes. Perhaps do this first and see which codes come back?

Small update

When Grippy mentioned the wires in the door I went straight out and checked them ( it was at night and was using a torch ) it turns out that the two largest ones were damaged further back I repaired them but made no difference. Do the codes need to be cleared before limp mode resets itself?

Before it used to reset automatically....

I'm not sure. Some codes will reset after so many engine starts. I think perhaps the PCB code might not. Sorry can't help much here.

Given that shift PCB is a known troublemaker on WG/J diesels that is almost a certain dud, after that is replaced then see what remains.

You will just be fumbling in the dark without reading and clearing the codes correctly.
Get an ELM327 adapter, go to jeepswj.com and download the jeepdiag app and report back what codes are left after clearing.

Hi

Replaced the battery

Just an update cleared all the codes none remained.

Just went for a spin and all seems ok.

Quick question on cleared codes; if the code actually clears does this usually mean it will not appear again

P1652 appears with the three turns of the ignition after a 10 mile drive

Gearbox codes were:

P2210
P2001
P2502
P2602
P2310
P2400

Could have been something as simple as dodgy battery connection too. Sometimes this can cause a whole swag of issues
