Default Replacement Head Unit for JK

Ever since I bought my JK I've never been very pleased with the head unit. It has an aftermarket Windows CE unit that has always seem a bit flakey and this week it has finally come to the end. I just can't get it to respond at all and no amount of resetting or pressing buttons has any effect, so it looks like it's finally time to replace it with something better.

The question though is, with what shall I replace it???
Ideally I'd like to install an Android unit as I use Android in most every other aspect of my life but I've never been able to find a reputable option. I know there are many Chineese bargains listed on eBay but I've never been very confident about them.

The main features I'm interested in are Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation and reverse camera functionality. Could anyone recommend a unit that would be suitable?

Thanks
Slarti.

Honestly, I’d skip the Chinese no name brands and just get an alpine, pioneer, Sony, etc that has android auto. Will only be a little bit more $ but much more reliable and much better quality. And will easily do all that you want.

You might consider this Kenwood 2018 unit that smashes the comparable Alpine product. It s Apple/Android compatible so provides sat nav, Bluetooth, WiFi, front & reverse camera, DVD, etc

Does Android Auto, (which just provides a link to work with your phone), work over Bluetooth yet, or do you still need to plug it in via USB? That's the big turn off, for me.

A pure Android headunit allows you to run the apps directly on the unit without requiring a phone, except for calls.

Android Auto now supports wireless, but not many head units have been released with this yet. JVC/Kenwood (Same company) have one but I don't think you can get it in Aus yet. US site for it is here - KW-M845BW

I've seen it on ebay Aus for preorder but it was from the US anyway.
