I reckon with some good Aussie enginuity we should be able to engineer an affordable LS swap.
The 5rfe is a good strong box and can be mated to the LS via an adaptor plate if need be, from all accounts the crd is fitted as a stand alone install as the JK was developed as a petrol platform, there are plenty of stand alone LS computers, this being the case a canbus adapter needs to be developed to allow the GM sensors to be seen by the dash. From my research the stability control and abs is stand alone and controlled by the BCM, this would then only leave the traction control to sort out.
Can an auto sparky or electrical engineer chime in and advise how this can be done.
My understanding is that canbus was developed by the auto industry to be a common protocol/language between the manufacturers.
