It is an interesting thread, I suppose there are arguments for and against.
If you want to go bush bashing and mountain climbing, I guess the old model with a lift and Quadra Drive 2, is the go.
It is pretty obvious, they have toned down the WK2 series, by not installing the Eaton diff in the front.

yer i was running around 20psi , tyres are prob 85K old so not the most grip lol and the surface was a damp clay but it was more just first time up that i took it easy . the two that went after went in with a little more momentum and breezed up .

I do get your point, though YOU might just be a part of the recovery and broken parts if the bloody car cuts out protecting itself instead of YOU on a busted arse loose and steep track.

Has anyone had any luck working this out?? I have sent a query to Jeep Aus technical to see if they can shed any light but i'm not expecting much out of them. I was hoping there would be some sort of software update to maybe sort it out.

There will never be a fix, Jeep doesn't want to trash their reputation by people doing more that what the AXLES, CV'S, Diff's etc can handle.

In all seriousness have you herd of a JGC breaking the above mentioned off Road?

You either need to find another way around the obstacle & perhaps learn how to drive Off road to the Vehicles capabilities.

I'm not sure how i would have been able to tackle the hill any differently, the loose surface demanded a small amount of speed to keep momentum so crawling up wasn't a possibility.
After watching a patrol, landcruiser, hilux and d22 navara get up without any sort of issue before me, i tend to think there's more to it or this car is not designed to go offroad at all.
I'd even be happy if the car just cut power as a protection but stalling the engine is downright dangerous.
Why is this also happening in sand?? I wouldn't think snapping a CV would happen in soft sand it would just bog down.

May I ask when tyres you had on the Jeep & what was on the other Vehicles? Please don't say you had the Khumo KL21 on .... I got bogged on the footpath out the front of my house with those on!
