Hemi 5.7 or crd
Go the crd, if you are asking about mpg on a big v8 in a big car. That was the advice given to me, so I did and have not looked back on the highway at 100-110 on the country drives 9.6lt/100km.
Around town or shorter trips you will be looking at about 11-12. But can go as high as you like is you are as toey as a Roman sandal, 90% of the time.
Things I have found that helped massively on consumption is not driving with all the 4wd and camping gear in the car, cleaning the maf regularly, not to mention the gde tune. The gde tune has you needing to push the skinny pedal much less. Better torque down low and also recals the accelerator pedal sensor, from memory. Also making sure the o2 sensors are working right.
My set up is a crd 08 Ltd anniversary edition, gde tune, bash plates underneath, crd stu lift front and rear with air bags in the rear coils, long range 110lt tank in place of spare, custom self made drawers in the back, with a tyre trek swing away with dual 20lt jerrycans. Tyres are close to a std size at 17-245-70 cooper at3s. Best tyre I have ever had. On the 2nd set last year.
