Hi All,

I've had a similar noise for years coming from under the dash and it does go away when the A/C is off or when the A/C gas is low and you have to replace the condenser like I did. The dealer could never find issue with A/C or anything else. I even gave them a mp3 of the noise (sounds like a sick whale) but still no luck. I'll be very interested how you get on.

I'd still put money on a tx valve myself more so than an evaporator.

I replaced my condenser and re-gassed in the summer and now the noise is less frequent, but it still rears its head now and then. I agree either the TX valve or evaporator are the key suspects, just don't like the idea of the whole dash coming out, so no further action on mine - for now!

I have replaced “cooler condenser”” under warranty March 2015 part 55038003AG price tag $783.95.
Than in August 2017 I had a hissing noise under the dash, diagnosed by another Jeep dealer - again item CH55038003AG with description Cooler Condenser and TRAN price tag $1194.25.
I swallowed the bill and hoped for the best.

Is this a Moby-Dick price inflation syndrome $784 than $1195 due to “sick whale” being poked with a harpoon and whales species are threaten to be extinct?
I guess, soon I need to forfeit a whole car as a problem does not “extinct” by itself or by Chrysler/Jeep/Fiat/ Whalers eeeeexpertssssss.

I had a similar issue earlier in the days on my 2012 due to A/C.

I had the dealer change the A/C compressor, condensor, TXValve and Evaporator unit - ripping out the dashboard on my new car at the time.

Solved the problem changing all those parts, Thanks to the forum US who had the same issues. Sounded like a trumbone resonating sound(hungry rubbling stomach) at the firewall area behind the dash. Never did it when the A/C was off.

Haha my 2012 does this mating call also.

I haven't had the brake booster recall completed but checked it myself and seemed to be fitted correctly.

Have you had the recall done?

Everyone should have had that done many years ago.
