Sounds more like a diesel, especially when you put your boot into it
Feels a little faster taking off and when you get into the throttle
Feels a lot more nimble around town, what I assume was the turbo lag is now gone. It feels much more responsive to throttle input in a good way and 'lighter' to drive, as if it is not working as hard
Feels smoother and quieter sitting on 60-70km/hr

In all, it's much nicer to drive with the tune than it was before.

I know none of these things are really measurable, just observations. I've kept a close eye on fuel econ. pre-tune so when I have some post-tune data to compare I'll update.
Davet. i too have to GDE tune and pretty much feel the same as you said above, ive have it for year or so now and didnt notice any change in fuel consumption.
the think that did improve fuel consumption (mine is pre DPF) was removing the bloody great muffler and putting a bit of straight pipe in its place, and the tune really shines now ( goes hard for a diesel puts a grin on my face and i chuckle in disbelief ). i done it for drive ability more than anything, sounds nice , its not loud at all and doesn't drone.

Hi WH3.0.

Did you get much exhaust volume increase by removing the big muffler?

I want to ditch it as it is one of the lowest things underneath and it has a few scrapes and dents now.

Cheers
Ben

HI Ben

Yeah it did but nothing to complain about. most people i tell its straight through dont believe me. so really very little increase in noise.

I was concerned when i was thinking of doing as i didnt want it to be loud, but i had nothing to worry about. you dont even really notice it out on the road, only when its under a bit of load, still far from loud. its still quiet compared to alot of other diesels you hear with an exhaust.

It does have a nice note about it now thou when you can hear it.

As for the fuel only saw about .5 ltr/100 better . i still only see low to mid 10's on the hwy if im lucky(@110) and 12's round town, so i avg in the 11's

hope this helps

Has anyone had issues with the engine light coming on when the gde eco or hot tune being installed. My 2006 jeep came factory without a dpf. No dpf under the floorpan only a straight pipe. When the tune is put back to original engine light switches off.

Did you get the tune from Murchison's or from GDE?

In the USofA all the CRD's have DPF's so unless the tune is requested without DPF then I would assume they would think it has one and write the tune with DPF installed.

From memory I thought Murchison only sold the "eco" tune here in Oz.

There maybe an opportunity for Murchison now that GDE has fallen fowl of the EPA in the USA. It looks like GDE is no longer able to sell tunes.
