Went to do my first oil change for rear diff and found two of these rubber bushings, one of which blocks any access to the filler nut. Looks like the rubber is welded/bonded to a steel outer ring and pressed into the frame. Has anyone come accross this and the only thing I can think of is drill the lot (rubber out)?? What did you folk do
The filler plug for the ELSD is on the drivers side of the diff about half way up. On my 2015 model it doesn’t have any rubber bushes fitted like yours does & the casing plug visible through where your rubber bushes are fitted has “Do Not Remove” stamped on it.
Thanks Drover, and I changed the fluids yesterday, super easy and the fill port is in plain view on the driver side of the rear ELSD so it’s all sorted.
It gave me inspiration to crawl under to have a lookie and found them in an easy to get at spot . Certainly wish i still had my walk under ramps..... some of that wiring is a good target for road crap.
